the question, engagements, and bridals

the question
so brandon and i had already started trading off holidays with families while we were dating. we had thanksgiving with his family and christmas with my family. christmas eve we went caroling and had dinner and went to bed. then of course woke up and opened presents with my family. while i was doing so i expected the entire time to open a small present about the size of a ring box and was very disappointed when i didn't. so disappointed in fact that i got mad at brandon. (by this time we'd been talking about and planning on getting married for three months) a few weeks before i was looking in his room for a blanket and happened upon a morgan jewelers bag so i knew he had the ring. so after having breakfast we drove up to his parents house. we started opening presents and i was handed a stocking that his mom put together for me. i was getting towards the bottom of the stocking when i realized that chet my brother in law was video taping, my mother in law was taking pictures as was erin my sister in law. i then pulled out a morgan jewelers box from the very bottom of my stocking, opened it and it was empty. i looked at brandon and he said, "you shouldn't have been snooping around in my closet last week." and then stood up asking if there were anymore presents for him. thinking that the empty box was all i was going to get i tried to stop him and started saying, "wait, no, that's not fair!" when he suddenly turned around and was on one knee with the ring in his hand and said, "nicole i love you, will you marry me?" the rest for me was a little hazy but i've been told that after i said yes i screamed, and was hugging and kissing him while he was trying to put the ring on my finger. truly the best christmas present i've ever had :)
then came the onslaught of excited phone calls to family and friends, the planning, the pictures, the stress, and the absolute bliss of being married to the greatest man in the world!

you can't really tell but the door frame we're standing on is about two feet off of the ground, i was so nervous that i was going to fall off!

i love flip flops!

it was so cold when we were doing bridals that when our photographer said to touch and play with my hair, i couldn't feel it my fingers were so cold

the little pond that we found smelled so bad! and it was really windy while i was standing out on the pier i was scared that i might fall off
