got work?

why do we work? honestly, why? are we bored with our lives? do we want to get away from our cranky spouse or out of control family? or do we like it? do we like the challenge of making our boss happy? do we like smiling at people when we'd rather deck 'em?
probably not. we need the money. because the $ sign is the world's common language.
doesn't that just suck.
your selling yourself. i could go into the studies of how men usually get paid more than a woman, even if they have the same job. or how men still dominate the work place. or how high the percentage is of people in high places who are corrupt. but just for generality sake i won't. because most of us are on the lower end of things. towards the bottom of the food chain as it were. we do things for other people that they don't want to do themselves.
when you go to the doctor you don't want to collect every detail of the visit and then deal with your insurance company to get them to pay for part of it. when you go shopping you don't want to have to fold all of the shirts you try on or hang on all of the pants that didn't fit. you also don't want to go into a place where everything is such a mess you can't find anything. heaven forbid.
so you find someone willing to sell their time so that you don't have to get your hands dirty.
what a selfish lazy world we live in.
we get a paycheck every so often. that's the whole reason we are there.
for all of those numbers behind that $ sign. what do we do after we cash that paycheck? we go shopping. we take our kids to the doctor. we go to school. and give our $ to someone else who's working, for you. now you, the hard working associate, becomes the lazy customer. and you can't stand it when things don't go your way.
so remember that awful day at work when you got yelled at by customers the next time you start getting mad at the girl ringing you up the store, shut up. she's selling her time for you.
