Naptime

Wow naptime is so great! I love that I get a little time to get things done during the day. So far the stay at home mamma has been very productive! Cleaning, updating the blog, dishes, dinner, Briggs' monthly pictures, redecorating and a little shopping. Maybe I should take a nap one of these days. It seems like I get more done with a baby than before. I can't really sleep in and be lazy anymore. Now I just have to start on my project list that I've been wanting to do forever. Before I do anything else I should probably finish a rug that I started when I was pregnant... Brandon keeps reminding me about it whenever I talk about another project :)

Besides my firm determination to put some miles on that jogging stroller it seems like I have an endless list of things that I want to get done this summer. Planting a flower pot for our front porch, make a couple skirts and a few blankets, finish our family portrait wall (which currently only has a large mirror and seasonal decor), recovering a couple chairs that Brandon inherited from his Grandma. They currently have this royal green velvet stuff, legh! While I really want to recover and refinish them I have a feeling this will be a huge undertaking for me and my pinterest boards... I may be enlisting the help of my wonderful mother-in-law (Trina) for the project, and my mom (Dawn) for babysitting :) I'm sure they would both be thrilled. Especially if they both ended up babysitting.

Oh, so many things to do! So on Monday I took pictures of Briggs for his 6 mo pics and realized that I haven't posted any of them so here ya go! Briggs' first 6 months!

Aunt Kara would like it pointed out that his bum which is not pictured says "Pirate Booty"

Briggs on his blessing day, because I can't find his 2 mo pic. He was about 2 1/2 months for his blessing. He looks so cute in his little sweater! Brandon did an amazing job!

He is such a content kid! He will just sit there and look around. The only times he gets upset is if he's hungry or tired, and let's be honest so does everyone other human being.

This is about when he started rolling over.

Had to add this pic, we started letting him play with his little stuffed animals and he totally growls while he's shoving them in his mouth! So adorible!

Look mom! No hair! Well he does have a little but the hair that was really dark at birth has completely all rubbed off except for a little on the back. But what's crazy is it looks like it's coming back blond, crazy!

Had to add this one! We started him on cereal and he loves it! At this point we were getting really close to him sleeping through the night. That's right, he still wakes up a couple times a night.

Briggs loves bath time, and pretty much any time he's naked. Even when it's time for a diaper change he gets this huge grin when the pants come off :)

Briggs was helping me go through our junk mail :)

I love my boys!

Briggs in the grass for the first time. He really did like it, I think the glare is for all of the pictures I took, Haha!

Mid smile... and kicking

Now that we can get him to smile picking pictures is going to get much more difficult...

He's mad that the carrots aren't coming fast enough

Once again, what happens when it's not coming fast enough. He pretty much dives onto that spoon! I love Brandon's face!

Our cute "Little Dude"

Thanks for reading! More updates to come!
Brought to you by naptime :)

Hooray! Brandon found a job which means that I was able to quit mine. Today is the first day of just me and Briggs!

Hopefully this means I can try to update this more often :)

All kinds of things planned including, planting flowers for spring, going to the zoo, spring cleaning and fieldtrips to see Nanna, Grandpa, and Grandma at work. So excited to finally be home!

Updates to follow, hopefully :)

BMR

Wow, how time flies! So I thought I would post something to try to catch up on the last little while. (I don't keep very good records for a History major) I'm sitting here reflecting on the past nine months, which in retrospect have flown by (for me anyway, Nicole may feel differently) and I am sooo excited for my little boy to get here. My sister and bro. in law just had a baby boy (#2) a few months ago and this last week we found out my brother and sis. in law are having a boy about six months after us. We are so happy and excited for them. I'm also very excited that Brigham will have so many cousins about his age to play with, and I hope they all have tons of fun getting into mischeif together! I look forward to all of the family get togethers, as I love my family more than I can or do express. Nicole throughout the pregnancy (which has been such a smooth one, luckily) has been such a trooper, I love her and appreciate all she has gone through so that we can bring this little guy into our family! Won't be long now as she is 38 weeks or so. I can't believe how close it is, and can't wait to meet my son! Here are some pics from the pregnancy.

french toast, seatbelts & cameras

so this last saturday was overcast and rainy. what a perfect day to be... lazy, make your own schedule, do whatever it is you want to do even if it's nothing at all. so we started off the day with some french toast from kneaders.

oh my. the amazing cinnamon swirls wrapping around fresh strawberries, whipped cream and buttermilk syrup somehow put me in a minor coma. i might sneak out next saturday just to sit by myself and force down as many as possible! i've never had such amazing french toast in my life! - i'm drooling

then brandon decided that he'd trust my mom with his hair, so we drove down to my parent's and my mom cut his hair. to be honest, it looks pretty good. too bad we're such good friends with our hair stylist or we could save some serious cash.

after wasting some time at the parent's we decided to go shopping for our anniversary present. as we get in the car and i put on my seatbelt it feels like someone is pushing against it, wanting to get it off. figures. briggs is his father's child. not even born and he's just like his father, who also hates wearing seatbelts. so all through out the day whenever the seatbelt goes on, briggs starts pushing it away. haha, i love him already!

so this year for our anniversary we are moving. joy. it just kind of happened that way. june 3rd sunday and our two year anniversary and then june 4th and we are moving. so instead of going on vacation we got ourselves a camera. a cannon t3 rebel. ohhh it's so pretty! pictures are coming as soon as we have something to take pictures of besides the mountains of boxes that are currently littering our apartment.

Baby Bump

It's a BOY!

Briggs at 16 weeks

Baby bump at 20 weeks

Baby bump at 18 weeks

Briggs at 7 weeks
I realize that these aren't in order but considering that it's been over a year since I've posted anything I figure it's better than nothing.

This morning I woke up to Briggs jumping on the bed, through my belly. I figured that I would be the smart one and just turn to my other side... two minutes later he's jumping on the bed through the other side of my belly. Ugh, too bad I can't take naps like he can during the day.

this week was a busy one. brandon and i spent the last week and a half at my parent's house while they were on a safari in africa. the week started with one of our really good friends getting married. it was awesome, a little cold but not bad at the temple in salt lake. we were going to the lunch afterward and our car died in north salt lake. awesome. we were in our sunday clothes from the wedding, we'd skipped breakfast that morning because we were running late and because our car died we then went without lunch. oh and then it started raining. needless to say it was a rough day. we finally made it to a walmart thanks to my amazing mother in law where we got a new battery for our car then we went to the wedding reception and from there to my parent's house.

it's crazy how much I forget but spring break was last week and we played with the dogs and enjoyed being at a nice big house with a dishwasher, lots of tv channels, free food, we played with the dogs everyday (apparently it wasn't enough because nukka jumped the fence four times while we were there) and i played lots of piano. brandon had two basketball games this week winning the first and loosing the second by three points (he was pretty upset, and still is if the subject comes up) i had a test in psychology and i got a 94%! and if no one in the class got 100% then it'll go up even further :D hooray! so to reward myself i went shopping and got two new shirts from old navy... i'm becoming a fan of that store their clearance is amazing i have always been able to find stuff my size for like 5 bucks! it's wonderful and almost guilt free! haha :)

i got a tip from a friend about a family doctor's office that is hiring, so i went in and dropped off my resume today and i didn't get home before i had a message on my phone of someone wanting to schedule an interview with me on thursday this week :D hooray! i hope this one goes somewhere, i haven't had an interview since november and brandon may not be stressing about things but i've been stressed out ever since i lost my job seven months ago! so fingers crossed for this one.

brandon is playing basketball it being tuesday night and all, and i'm here just finished unpacking from my parent's house now i'm watching the little mermaid and updating our blog waiting for brandon to get home so we can get to bed. brandon's birthday is tomorrow the big 30. i feel bad that i haven't planned anything but i'm still feeling a depressed about the last party that i planned, no one came. so i figure if i don't plan anything and people come anyway awesome! and i still don't know what to get him because my plan for another present fell through, crap. well wish me luck i'll be wandering aimlessly through multiple stores tomorrow trying to figure out what he would like. why do guys have to be so hard to buy presents for? lame.

new year, new things

With Brandon and I still out of work we've had to become creative about earning money. I still work for my dad at the spanish fork airport. I've started teaching piano, flute and ballroom dance lessons. Brandon is my dad's taxi driver whenever he needs a ride to and from the airport. The money still isn't very much but it's better than nothing. We've had to cut back on some things like clothing and some of the more expensive food. We definitely like eating at our parent's houses or going to parties where we only have to bring one thing. I've had to get creative with some of my cooking and besides Brandon being an extremely picky eater (and I think it's getting worse) I've made some pretty delicious stuff. I'm quite proud of my honey mustard chicken and my sweet and sour chicken on rice... we seem to be running out of chicken. I'm loving our huge supply of instant pudding and cake mixes, we're definitely packing in the calories we need everyday. Brandon surprised me yesterday with baby spinach leaves and we made this amazing salad mmmmm so good! I think it's kinda ridiculous how excited I got when he brought that big bag of green stuff home. It wasn't too long ago that I would have called it a waste of money. All this talk of food is making my hungry!

We're both in school right now. Brandon is full time this semester taking Utah History, Chinese History, two upper level French classes and an Institute class. I'm taking a Psychology class and an Institute class. We're kept busy with homework and we'll go on a date every once in a while.

I'm getting ready to take over conducting for the bell choir that I've been in since I was 14. I've done multiple rehearsals this season and I'm conducting our solo at the Mass Ring on March 5th (so excited!) I'm way excited for the Christmas season and all of the songs that we'll be playing this year!

Oh and our rent went up this month by 64 cents, weird.
